Bushmills Irish Whiskey brings its 26 Year Old Crystal Malt stateside, following a debut in the UK and EU last year.

Crafted from crystal malt, a barley is processed to crystallize sugars during kilning, this whiskey gains a depth of flavor before it ever touches oak. The result is a distillate with intense notes, carried through 26 years of maturation in first fill bourbon barrels from Kelvin Cooperage in Kentucky.

Casked on November 20, 1997 and triple distilled, this whiskey is bottled at 92 proof to preserve the flavor profile created. The use of bourbon barrels amplifies the creamy malt profile.

Bushmills 26 Year Old Crystal Malt is available for $1,000.

Keeper’s Heart is proud to introduce its most exclusive release to date, its 32-Year-Old Irish Single Malt.

Originally distilled at the Cooley Distillery and crafted from 100% malted barley, the expression, at 109.8 proof, was hand-selected in 2020 by Keeper’s Heart Master Distiller Brian Nation, before the Keeper’s Heart distillery opened its doors in Minneapolis. With only one barrel available, this ultra-limited expression will launch this month.

What makes it interesting is a subtle signature of peat—not from the mashbill, but from the history of the pot stills used to distill it. “The pot stills had once been used for peated whiskey and were never fully cleaned,” said Keeper’s Heart Master Distiller Brian Nation. “That faint wisp of smoke became a beautiful and unexpected part of this whiskey’s identity.”

“Every whiskey we release tells a story—but this one is a legend,” added Patrick O’Shaughnessy, Keeper’s Heart Co-founder. “It’s a tribute to the roots we honor and the rare moments we create.”

Keeper’s Heart 32-Year-Old Irish Single Malt will retail for $2,499.

Two Stacks makes its first offering in the Irish Grain Whiskey category with its Single Grain Double Barrel.

Through importer Foley Family Wines & Spirits, Two Stacks is always on the hunt for traditional Irish whiskeys that they can make their own. Two Stacks Single Grain Double Barrel showcases the versatility and refinement of Irish Grain Whiskey, a traditional style of whiskey most often used as a blending component.

The expression starts with a mashbill of 94% maize and 6% Irish malted barley. The technical file for Irish Grain Whiskey requires that it is produced with malted barley (not exceeding 30%) and includes un-malted cereal grains, in this case corn. The distillate is first aged for 3-5 years in former bourbon barrels, followed by 1-3 years in Oloroso sherry casks, both in a traditional Irish rickhouse on the Cooley Peninsula.

“I think a lot of folks in Ireland thought we were mad when we told them we were coming out with an Irish Grain Whiskey,” said Two Stacks Co-Founder Liam Brogan. “We were confident with the right blend and aging/finishing we could produce something rather sophisticated and unexpected that honored the legacy of this workhorse stalwart in Irish whiskey history.”

While not as historically entrenched as the famed Single Pot Still whiskeys of the 18th and 19th centuries, the single grain style gained momentum with the advent of column stills in the mid-1800s. However, it wasn’t until the establishment of Cooley Distillery in 1987 and The Great Northern Distillery in 2015 (both founded by John Teeling, David Hynes, and Jim Finn) that the style came into its own in modern Ireland. The whiskey from those distilleries is blended and bonded for this bottling.

Two Stacks Single Grain Double Barrel is available in both a 100 ml Dram in a Can and a 700 ml sustainable bottle made from 100% recycled glass for $6.99 and $44.99, respectively.

Hawk’s Rock Distillery, Sazerac’s recently acquired Irish whiskey distillery, has just announced its inaugural release, Garavogue 20 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey.

Crafted by Master Blender Helen Mulholland, the first female Master Blender in Irish Whiskey history, the expression is named after the river that flows past the distillery through Sligo town into the Atlantic Ocean. Double-distilled and initially aged for a minimum of 14 years in ex-bourbon American oak casks, the whiskey was then transferred into a variety of finishing casks including French Muscat, French Sauternes, Spanish Pedro Ximénez Sherry and Barbadian Rum casks for further maturation. The result is a 94 proof whiskey that embodies Sazerac’s dedication to world class distillation, aging and blending.

“The current trend is for whiskey to have a rich sherry finish, but Garavogue is purposefully different,” says Hawk’s Rock Distillery Master Blender Helen Mulholland. “We believe that complexity and subtlety can work hand in hand. It is unusual for a whiskey to be blended with this number and variety of casks, but just as the river ebbs and flows, the flavors create a wonderful blend as they weave together in this 20-year-old single malt.”

Garavogue is a small-batch release and will experimental in nature, exploring different ages, maturation techniques and possibly even different types of Irish whiskey. Release #1 is housed in a distinctive reversed crescent shape bottle with a blue label reflecting the Garavogue River’s influence including subtle wave patterns that mirror the motion of water. The label also features imagery and coordinates for the Hazelwood House Windmill – an enduring landmark on the grounds of Hawk’s Rock – in tribute to the historical figures who lived and worked along Garavogue’s banks.

“We hope that Garavogue Whiskey invites Irish Whiskey fans to linger, explore and uncover the hidden stories of Sligo,” remarks Jess Scheerhorn, Vice President at Sazerac. “The Garavogue River shaped this beautiful landscape for millenniums, and Garavogue Irish Whiskey aims to shape new experiences, connections and traditions – one sip at a time.”

Hawk’s Rock Distillery’s Garavogue Whiskey will begin rolling out in limited quantities this month for $199.

Sazerac Company has announce the renaming of its recently-acquired Irish Whiskey Distillery to Hawk’s Rock Distillery.

Formerly known as Lough Gill Distillery, Hawk’s Rock will continue to produce and age Irish Whiskey under the watchful eye of Master Blender Helen Mulholland on the over 100-acre site located in County Sligo, Ireland, which includes the nationally listed historic landmark Hazelwood House.

The name change reflects Sazerac’s vision for the future of Irish Whiskey – the art and science of blending, innovation and respect for Sligo’s rich heritage. Named after a prominent outcrop in the Ox Mountains that inspired Nobel Prize winning poet William Butler (W.B.) Yeats’ play “At the Hawk’s Well”, the distillery aims to become a global hub for Irish Whiskey, while offering a gateway to explore the traditions of Sligo and the surrounding region.

“The renaming of Hawk’s Rock Distillery marks a new, yet familiar, frontier for us,” says Sazerac President and CEO Jake Wenz. “Sazerac is known for its balanced approach to honoring tradition while embracing change in constant pursuit of crafting the world’s best spirits at our distilleries in America, India, Canada and France. Our mission holds true for Ireland, and we are excited to reveal how we are blending time-honored traditions with bold innovation to advance the art of Irish whiskey-making.”

Mulholland, the first female Master Blender in Irish Whiskey history, and her carefully-selected team have been entrusted with leading the creation and blending of Hawk’s Rock’s innovative new-to-world Irish whiskey brands, the first of which will debut in June.

Sazerac acquired Lough Gill Distillery in 2022, drawn by its historical significance and the cultural richness of Ireland. Since then, the team has upgraded and tripled its warehouse capacity, expanded production and is modernizing the distillery, ensuring continued growth while maintaining its commitment to quality.

“This rebrand is just the beginning for Hawk’s Rock Distillery,” says Wenz. “Throughout the changes at Hawk’s Rock, our vision remains the same – creating a track record for the aging and blending of award-winning whiskeys – and this name change brings us one step closer to bringing that vision to life.”

While Hawk’s Rock Distillery is closed to the public during renovations, Sazerac has received planning permission to develop a future visitor experience in Sligo.

Midleton Very Rare unveils the final chapter in the Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Collection, the rarest and oldest Irish whiskey collection in the world.

Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Collection Chapter Six represents the very last drops to be released from the legendary Old Midleton, now forever silent. 50 years in the making and unveiled to celebrate the distillery’s 200th anniversary, this 106 proof whiskey is the last release to have been distilled by Master Distiller Emeritus Max Crockett in the world’s largest pot still. Over the decades, it has been nurtured under the guardianship of three subsequent Master Distillers – Barry Crockett, Brian Nation, and most recently, Kevin O’Gorman.

“Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Collection Chapter Six is a whiskey whose excellence is shaped by so many extraordinary factors. From the characteristics of the now incredibly rare single pot still distillate style created back in Old Midleton, to the 50-year maturation process under the care of my predecessors and I, to a one-of-a-kind final marrying, this whiskey has been looked after like no other,” said Midleton Very Rare Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman. “Max, Barry, Brian, Ger and I, alongside the Midleton Distillery family past and present, have been a team over many decades, protecting and nurturing this liquid to achieve its peak. While there is a sense of sadness as the Old Midleton Distillery and the Silent Distillery Collection reach a close, I know they would all agree that it has been an extraordinary privilege to be part of the creation process.

“As for this exceptional whiskey, I feel an immense pride and excitement in unveiling these last, precious drops,” he adds. “There is a balance of aged oak influence with fresh fruit notes that can be challenging to achieve in ultra-aged whiskeys, which I hope those lucky enough to enjoy it will find a remarkable surprise. I truly believe that we have encapsulated the essence of Old Midleton in this ultimate expression.”

Initially aged in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, the whiskey was later decanted into a bespoke cask crafted by Master Cooper Ger Buckley and his team. This unique barrel was created using wood from the five previous Silent Distillery releases, with Buckley selecting and reassembling staves from each chapter to form a one-of-a-kind cask for the final marrying of this release.

“As a fifth-generation cooper at Midleton Distillery, it has been a great honor to provide a special contribution to the creation of Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Collection Chapter Six,” Master Cooper Ger Buckley said. “Crafting a bespoke, one-of-a-kind cask for its final maturation, using wood from the Silent Distillery Collection’s original casks embodies the heritage and craftsmanship that have been passed down through my family’s legacy at the distillery. Working on the cask that would hold this once-in-a-lifetime whiskey, I found myself wondering if my coopering predecessors ever felt such pressure to preserve every last drop!”

Playing a key role in the final chapter of the Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery is a specially designed decanter, individually mouth-blown and refined by the specialist craftsmen and women of Ireland’s House of Waterford. Each piece, hand-finished, etched, and polished, showcases Waterford’s luxury and craftsmanship. The bottle is housed in a unique wooden cabinet designed by Irish master craftsman John Galvin, who merges precision engineering with contemporary design. To mark the sixth and final release, he has carefully selected and combined six rare woods – each previously featured in the cabinets of the first five Silent Distillery releases – with the sixth being a stunning blue bird’s eye maple. Enhanced with a delicate 18ct gold-plated trim, a hand-cut and embroidered premium leather interior, and finishing touches including oak reclaimed from old Irish whiskey vats.

Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Collection that began in 2020, with one chapter released annually. The collection honors the legacy of the Old Midleton Distillery which operated from 1825 to 1975 and was world-renowned for its Irish single pot still whiskey.

Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Collection Chapter Six is available at $60,000.

Two Stacks Irish Whiskey, one of only three recognized whiskey bonders in Ireland, comes stateside with its flagship product, Two Stacks The First Cut Signature Blend Irish Whiskey.

Two Stacks The First Cut Signature Blend is the marriage of five whiskeys–two single grain whiskeys provide the foundation, a pot still whiskey, a double-distilled malt whiskey and a peated malt whiskey are added to make the expression.

While this blend hails from Great Northern Distillery, Two Stacks collaborates with more than 17 distilleries across the island of Ireland, including Killowen, Boann, Adara, Dingle and Echlinville Distillery. Every label details the exact blend composition and the origins of the distillates, ensuring customers know exactly what is in their whiskey. This blend comprises 40% single grain whiskey (aged in former Kentucky Bourbon casks), 40% single grain whiskey (aged in virgin American Oak casks), 8% pot still whiskey (aged in Oloroso Sherry casks), 10% double-distilled malt whiskey (aged in former Kentucky Bourbon casks), and 2% peated malt whiskey (aged in former Kentucky Bourbon casks). It is blended and bottled/canned at 86 proof.

“Two Stacks The First Cut Signature Blend features Peated Malt Whiskey,” noted Two Stacks Co-Founder Shane McCarthy. “Peat is typically associated with Scotch, but, in fact, has a rich legacy in Irish whiskey history. As recently as the early 1800’s, historians noted an abundance of ‘smoky’ Irish whiskeys, primarily from northwest Ireland, where peat was an abundant fuel source.”

Before the 1930s, there were hundreds of recognized whiskey bonders in Ireland – now there are just three, including Two Stacks. A whiskey bonder has the unique ability to take whiskeys from different distilleries, employ further aging if desired, and create differentiating whiskeys versus a single distillery laying down continuous distillate of a similar profile.

Two Stacks was founded in 2020 by three friends, Shane McCarthy, Liam Brogan and Donal McLynn. Their goal is to change the narrative on Irish Whiskey by reaching into country’s deep whiskey roots and putting people back into the fine art of Irish Whiskey making to create complex, sophisticated blends capable of challenging any whiskey in the world.

Through its new import agency partnership with Foley Family Wines & Spirits, Two Stacks The First Cut Signature Blend is available in both the 700 ml bottle ($37.99) and the unique 100 ml Dram in A Can  ($4.99) are now available in 19+ U.S. markets, including New York, Massachusetts, Florida and Minnesota. It is expected to achieve national distribution by the end of the year. In addition to a 700 ml sustainable bottle made from 100% recycled glass ($37.99 MSRP), The First Cut Signature Blend is also available in a ground-breaking 100 ml Dram in a Can ($4.99 MSRP).

The Muff Liquor Company has reached America’s shores and its looking for a good time!

The premium Irish spirits producer from the village of Muff in Co. Donegal, Ireland, has launched its core range in the U.S. The range includes a triple distilled/five-part blend peated whiskey, a potato based vodka and a gin; the latter two are both distilled six times.

The Muff Irish Whiskey is a 86 proof peated Irish whiskey made with a five part blend of Irish Malt and Grain whiskey. The Muff Irish Gin is made with potatoes and then incorporates a blend of mandarin, juniper berries, citrus peel, elderflower, and rosemary, cold-infused overnight in the spirit.

The Muff Liquor Company was founded in 2018 by Laura Bonner, who set out to honor her family’s legacy and showcase the taste of that land. She is dedicated to preserving the area’s heritage, inspired by ‘Granda’ (grandfather) Philip McClenaghen, a potato farmer with a knack for innovation and the original creator of the handcrafted ‘Poitín’ recipes that now inspire her spirits.

Before founding The Muff Liquor Company, Bonner graduated with a law degree from Dublin Business School and embarked on a successful real estate career in London, eventually taking on a UK Sales Director role where she saw 300 employees across 17 offices. However, her dream of building her own distillery never left. Inspired by her grandfather’s ingenuity and recipes, she aspires to make a difference in the village of Muff and her community where The Muff Liquor Company Experience is based today. Bonner returned to her roots 8 years ago to follow through on her business idea for The Muff Liquor Company she had at 19.

“All of us at The Muff Liquor Company are thrilled to be partnering with Lucas Bols to launch our innovative range of Irish spirits that honors the authentic style of Donegal into the US market,” says CEO and founder Laura Bonner. “Our three spirits reveal Ireland’s potential to show the world our dedication to craft, especially with the new global release of the peated Irish whiskey within the range. This is a big step for us and we are excited to share and impress with the complexity and craft of our brand.”

As CEO and Founder, Bonner brought together a strategic team of high-profile celebrity investors, including Russell Crowe, Ed Sheeran, Ronan Keating and Jimmy Carr, to support the global expansion of the brand. These partners have recognized the exceptional quality of Muff’s premium spirits, and helped elevate the brand’s profile and reinforce its reputation for authenticity and craftsmanship.

The Muff Irish Whiskey, The Muff Irish Vodka and The Muff Irish Gin all retail for $34.99.
