The Glenfiddich has unveiled a limited-edition 16-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch whisky to celebrate its multi-year partnership with the Aston Martin Formula 1 Team.

Crafted from a selected marriage of American oak wine casks, new American barrels, and second-fill bourbon casks, this expression showcases a meticulous blending process. The result is an 86 proof whisky that is rich in character with distinct notes of maple syrup and caramelized ginger.

“This release marks an exciting milestone in our journey with the Aston Martin Formula One Team,” shared Claudia Falcone, Glenfiddich Global Brand Director. “Through this collaboration we invite enthusiasts worldwide to engage with these iconic brands in bold new ways and create memorable moments that reach far beyond the racetrack. This limited-edition bottling is just the beginning as we continue to write the next chapter together.”

“At Glenfiddich, we’re committed to creating exceptional whiskies that honor tradition while embracing innovation. The Glenfiddich 16-Year-Old is a true testament to this philosophy,” commented Brian Kinsman, Glenfiddich Malt Master. “It combines craftsmanship and precision in a whisky that invites exploration and discovery, much like the journey of our partnership with the Aston Martin Formula One™ Team. It’s a celebration of blending tradition with the thrill of innovation.”

The Speyside distillery announced a long-term partnership with Aston Martin Formula One Team in November 2024. The partnership launched at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, where Glenfiddich and Aston Martin Formula One toasted this new collaboration.

“In this next chapter, Glenfiddich and Aston Martin Formula 1 Team come together to honor the first year of our partnership with a limited-edition 16-Year-Old bottling, ” said Jefferson Slack, Managing Director at Aston Martin Formula One™ Team. “A true symbol of craftsmanship and performance, the exclusive product further cements the coming together of our two iconic
brands.”

The Glenfiddich 16-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky hits shelves this month for a limited time for $75.

Hudson Whiskey is celebrating the fall via the release of its New York Rye Whiskey Calvados Cask Finish.

The third significantly aged Hudson expression is a blend of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, sourced locally from Hudson Valley farms. It spent at least 3.5 years in new American oak barrels before maturing for an additional 3.5 years in casks that previously held Calvados – a refined apple brandy produced exclusively in Normandy, France.

“When we had the chance to acquire casks that once held Calvados, we saw an opportunity to craft a whiskey that embodies the bold, innovative spirit of Hudson Whiskey and New York itself,” said Hudson Whiskey Master Blender Brian Kinsman. “This new rye pays homage to the state, from the orchards of the Hudson Valley to the iconic Big Apple. As the Hudson Whiskey portfolio continues to grow, we’re committed to expanding its offerings with aged expressions that reflect its proud, bold New York heritage.”

Hudson New York Rye Whiskey Calvados Cask Finish is available nationwide for $69.99.

Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky recently released Grand Château, a 31-year-old single malt Scotch and the first release by the distillery to be finished in Bordeaux red wine casks.

The latest addition to the Grand Series tells the stories of Speyside’s ‘Fiddich River’ and the ports of Bordeaux. Grand Chateau blends Glenfiddich with casks from the world’s premier wine region. It was matured in American oak casks for 22 years before being finished for nine years in Bordeaux red wine casks.

“Bordeaux red wine casks are incredibly versatile sources of flavor and widely recognized for their outstanding quality, providing the perfect opportunity for experimentation to develop a profound spirit,” said Brian Kinsman, Glenfiddich Malt Master. “Nine years spent cocooned in Bordeaux red wine casks results in an exceptionally vibrant liquid. Although wine is becoming an increasingly popular choice for maturation within the single malt category, it remains relatively rare to see whiskies finished in a Bordeaux red wine cask, making this an incredibly intriguing and highly collectible release.”

To celebrate the union of these two cultures and honor Glenfiddich’s connection to the arts, the distillery partnered with French artist André Saraiva to create two limited-edition packages for Grand Château. The first design features a watercolor print on the inside of the Grand Château box. The second design will see a smaller release with only 24 arriving in the U.S. Classified as “The Artist Edition,” it features the traditional Toile de Jouy print with Saraiva’s signature motifs and style on the front of the box.

“Glenfiddich Grand Château is a stunning addition to our Grand Series, as the Bordeaux casks intensify the liquid’s classic character with notes of deep oak and vanilla,” said Lorne Cousin, U.S. National Ambassador for Glenfiddich. “This new expression further emphasizes our dedication to pushing the boundaries to create highly dynamic and unique spirits, while also bringing the rich history of Speyside and Bordeaux together in an unusual way.”

Grand Château is the second limited edition release from the Grand Series collection, joining Grand Yozakura, a limited edition 29 year old Scotch whisky launched last year. Permanent expressions within the series include Grande Couronne, a 26 year old Scotch whisky matured in American and European oak casks finished for up to two years in sourced French Cognac casks; Grand Cru, aged for 23 years in American and European oak casks and then finished in French Cuvée oak casks; and Gran Reserva, carefully matured for 21 years in American Oak ex-Bourbon barrels and European Oak Oloroso Sherry casks before finished for up to four months in casks soaked with a custom blend of Golden rum.

Glenfiddich Grand Château is available for $2,100.

Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky recently revealed Grand Yozakura, the first-ever single malt Scotch whisky to be finished in rare Japanese Awamori casks.

Grand Yozakura is a 29-Year-Old Scotch whisky matured at the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown and finished in oak casks that previously matured the oldest distilled alcoholic spirit in Japan, Awamori. It is made using long-grain Indica rice and is traditionally stored in clay pots, with only a small proportion matured in oak casks, making the liquid exceptionally rare. It is said that the technique for making the spirit has remained the same for over 500 years.

Grand Yozakura is the latest entry into Glennfiddich’s ultra-premium Grand Series, a collection of single malts characterized by innovative and experimental cask finishing. The collection includes Glenfiddich Gran Reserva (Aged 21 Years), Glenfiddich Grand Cru (Aged 23 Years), and Glenfiddich Grande Couronne (Aged 26 Years).

“We are always looking to experiment with new finishes, so when the chance arose to acquire rare Awamori casks, we saw an opportunity to push the boundaries and experiment with this highly unusual spirit,” says Brian Kinsman, Malt Master, Glenfiddich. “This is the first time that single malt Scotch whisky has been finished in these rare casks. We always learn something new when we lead with innovation, so taking a risk is worth it, and in the case of Awamori, we trialed a very small number of casks at a younger age.”

Grand Yozakura is the first of a collection of limited-edition Grand Series expressions that are finished in rare casks from around the world, honoring a cultural celebration from that country. Glenfiddich’s Grand Yozakura expression celebrates Hanami, the cherry blossom festival when Japan appreciates the temporal beauty of nature through the sakura (cherry blossoms). A time for renewal and optimism, the festival is best experienced illuminated after dark, where it is known as the Yozakura or ‘night sakura.’

Grand Yozakura is presented in a glass bottle with a bespoke stopper with beautiful Hanko stamp engraving, a label tear design with Hanko stamp embossing, and a decorated fabric capsule with a traditional poem on sakura. The bottle is placed in a rotating Grand Range box with cherry blossom florals, bringing Hanami to life with a signature illustration created by Japanese artist June, who creates visions incorporating Japanese culture and landscapes.

Glenfiddich’s Grand Yozakura is available in very limited quantities for $1,999.

Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky recently launched its Time Re:Imagined collection in the U.S. The ultra-premium range features three single malts, the Glenfiddich 30-Year-Old, 40-Year-Old and 50-Year-Old.

The range represents the pinnacle of Glenfiddich’s signature distillery style, with each expression maturing over decades. Since the 1960s, just three Glenfiddich Malt Masters have been at the helm, overseeing and nurturing the patient development of these casks through various climatic conditions.

Each expression, alongside artistically developed outer packaging, encapsulates the spirit known to the brand and celebrates moments of time relative to their production. The rarest within the Time Re:Imagined Collection, the 50-Year-Old, portrays Simultaneous Time, exploring the parallel and complex conditions that have influenced the liquid. Glenfiddich’s 40-Year-Old represents Cumulative Time, drawing attention to the layers of accumulated flavor, made possible via the remnant vatting process, first pioneered by the brand. Completing the Collection is the 30-Year-Old, embodying Suspended Time – representing the moment when the Malt Master suspends the development of the whisky, showcasing the purest expression of the distiller’s character.

“In whisky production, we often talk about the role of Malt Masters, and it is our responsibility to find the delicate balance between the taste of the whisky and the intensity of the oak cask,” says Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman. “But we don’t always acknowledge how each cask, each bottle, is absolutely unique because of the time it has spent maturing. Both nature and time play huge roles in making whisky taste like it does, and Glenfiddich’s Time Re:Imagined pays homage to this process and the exquisite liquid both time helps to create.”

To create the flavor of the Glenfiddich 50-Year- Old, whiskies from three different American Oak refill casks, all matured in the same warehouse, were married together and finished in an American Oak refill cask for two years. There are only 220 decanters of this expression, making it an extremely precious and sought-after collectors’ item.

Glenfiddich’s Time Re:Imagined Collection is now available in limited quantities in the U.S. for $1,299, $4,600 and $50,000 for the Glenfiddich 30-Year-Old, 40-Year-Old, and 50-Year-Old, respectively.

If you are what you eat, should also smell like what you drink? Monkey Shoulder Scotch Whisky thinks so, hence their new fragrance.

The blended malt scotch has created Monkey Musk, a limited-edition cologne that features scent notes like zesty orange, vanilla, honey and spiced oak… All the things you typically enjoy in your favorite Monkey Shoulder cocktail.

Ensuring that the scent was just right was the most important piece of the puzzle, the brand enlisted its Malt Master Brian Kinsman to ensure it featured every note found in its namesake whisky – and then some.

“The process of creating whisky is in many ways similar to a perfumer crafting a fragrance,” said Monkey Shoulder Scotch Whisky Malt Master Brian Kinsman. “We both prioritize the quality of elements going into the blend and spend hours perfecting the combination of different notes. It’s a science, and the beautiful blend of Monkey Shoulder deserved to be replicated as a fragrance since it’s made up of tasting notes you’d typically find in leading fragrances.”

To announce the launch of Monkey Musk, the brand has once again teamed up with actor, comedian & host Joel McHale to bring his signature humor to a whisky that knows a thing or two about poking fun at pretentiousness, and the fragrance industry is exactly that. And don’t worry you won’t see him in a traditional fragrance ad with a jungle backdrop or a woman sitting on his shoulder.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Monkey Shoulder again to launch the incredible Monkey Musk Fragrance…although I’m a little shocked it’s taken me this long to secure a fragrance deal. That said, I am grateful and humble and IN YOUR FACE CHRIS EVANS.” said Joel McHale. “The Monkey Shoulder blended Scotch inspired fragrance Monkey Musk is just as good as the hard stuff.”

Fans can purchase their own bottle of Monkey Musk for xx at shop.monkeyshoulder.com.

Glenfiddich recently unveiled a special edition expression within its core range. The Glenfiddich 12-Year-Old Sherry Cask Finish marks a first for the distillery and its competitors.

The signature single malt is matured for 12 years in traditional American and European Oak casks before finishing in rare Amontillado sherry casks. Amontillado is a specific sherry type from the Spanish sherry region of Jerez that is characterized as being darker than Fino and lighter than Oloroso. Amontillado is considered to be one of the four major dry sherries but still displays sweet notes like hazelnut and caramel. Amontillado sherry casks produced for the whisky industry are known to be extremely rare, representing only 1.8% of all sherry produced.

“The core character of Glenfiddich 12-Year-Old Sherry Cask Finish remains true to the heart of our signature Glenfiddich 12-Year-Old with a sweet, fruitiness rich in fresh pear and crisp apple,” said Malt Master Brian Kinsman. “The flavor is deeper, sweeter, and oakier with light spice, delicate hints of dried fruits, and a touch of baked apple.”

The launch of this new expression permanently fills a gap in the Glenfiddich core range as the first sherry-forward single malt, joining 12-Year-Old Original, 14-Year-Old Bourbon Barrel Reserve, 15-Year-Old Solera, and 18-Year-Old Small Batch.

Glenfiddich 12-Year-Old Sherry Cask Finish is now available in California and Florida for $54.99.

Fistful of Bourbon announces The Search for the $100,000 Fist, an open casting call for its first-ever Spokesfist. This is a real job for one lucky fist to appear in an upcoming campaign for the brand and sign a $100,000 contract.

The selected Spokesfist will be signed to a contract with Fistful of Bourbon and will star in the brand’s future campaigns in print, video, across social media and more. The Spokesfist will also receive a custom designed bottle featuring their fist, top-notch perks like hand spa treatments and workouts and tips from a top Hollywood hand model to keep the prized fist looking good, fit and ready for the spotlight, just in time for awards season!

“Here at Fistful of Bourbon, we’re looking for a new leading star, someone that can truly wow us with their panache,” said Anthony Bohlinger, U.S. National Brand Ambassador at Fistful of Bourbon. “Fistful is a blend of five straight American bourbons – literally a fistful – that together delivers the best bourbon has to offer and so, it’s only natural we want to find the best fist around these parts to be our Spokesfist.”

Launched April 13 nationwide, Fistful of Bourbon is a brand born from ingenuity and with 130 years of whisky-making prowess from Scottish family distiller, William Grant & Sons. Applying the art and science of Scotch blending to American whiskey, Master Blender Brian Kinsman and Whiskey Blender Kelsey McKechnie combine five straight bourbons to create Fistful of Bourbon, the first from-the-ground-up American whiskey from the William Grant & Sons portfolio.

Fistful of Bourbon takes inspiration from the cowboy spirit and Hollywood’s action-packed spaghetti Westerns, cult classics or laugh-out-loud cowboy comedies, its smoothness and superior drinkability took home double gold medals at the International Spirits Challenge in 2019 and took gold at the 2020 San Francisco Spirit Awards. Fistful of Bourbon is now available in retailers and bars nationally.

Hudson Whiskey reaffirms its place as the “spirit of New York” with its recent reinvention. They now feature more mature liquid with the same bold character, carried through in the taste, new look and new names.

The new Hudson portfolio includes Bright Lights, Big Bourbon and Do The Rye Thing, its reinvented flagship bourbon and rye offerings. Additionally, Hudson reimagined its Maple Cask Rye into Short Stack, a straight rye whiskey finished in maple syrup casks, and introduces Back Room Deal, a straight rye whiskey finished in peated Scotch barrels. The latter marks the first innovation from the brand in seven years.

The new packaging is inspired by the New York subway system with black and white blocking and bold, vibrant colors for each variant that convey a sense of place. The new variant names reflect New York attitude and embrace the kind of characters, places and moments that only exist in New York.

Hudson Whiskey started out to make New York State’s first bourbon ever and to open the first distillery in the state since prohibition. By challenging the government to change the laws for craft distillers everywhere, Hudson Whiskey founder Ralph Erenzo was at the forefront of the craft whiskey movement and put Hudson Whiskey on the map. In fact, the barriers the distillery broke down led to five additional distilleries coming together with Hudson to establish a New York whiskey style, Empire Rye. Today, there are more than 180 craft distilleries in New York State alone.

Since 2017, Hudson’s liquid has benefited from the distilling expertise of Brian Kinsman, William Grant & Sons Master Blender, and David Stewart, The Balvenie Malt Master of over 55 years, alongside the Hudson Whiskey Chief Distiller Brendan O’Rourke. Together they have taken that 130 years of distilling pedigree for which William Grant & Sons is known and have applied it to Hudson.

“Hudson Whiskey is the original innovator, a whiskey as bold as New York,” says Paul Coffey, Senior Brand Manager, Hudson Whiskey. “Hudson shook things up when it started a movement here and now, once again, we will set the tone for what New York whiskey can be. That means liquid that has evolved with age, a fresh look to reflect our bold character, and reimagined names that evoke classic New York moments and that unmistakable New York spirit.”

“As a born and bred New Yorker, it is important to me to showcase the hard work from our local family farmers,” adds Brendan O’Rourke, Chief Distiller and Operations Manager of Hudson Whiskey. “These grains form the backbone of Hudson Whiskey and we are proud to work alongside our neighbors as our brand continues to grow. As the liquid inside of the bottle has evolved, it was fitting to update the packaging as well. The inspiration came from our love of the great state of New York and the people who make it unique.”

Hudson Whiskey will celebrate this rebirth by celebrating the people of New York and its sense of community. “New York is known for its people, the brave, resilient and creative individuals who make it home,” Coffey says. “They are known for coming together to help and support one another. Hudson Whiskey is proud to celebrate that spirit and our fellow New Yorkers through Lifting Spirits, a month of uplifting activities to show support and appreciation to those who embody the New York spirit while also raising funds to help those in need.”

The Lifting Spirits program kicked off on September 14 with the auction of one select, limited-edition barrel of Hudson Whiskey that gives the highest bidder the opportunity to hand pick a rare cask of their choice at the distillery. The barrel is being donated to Diversity in Wine and Spirits, non-profit working to advocate diversity and inclusion in the hospitality industry, for this auction and all proceeds go to the organization. The auction is live now via CharityBuzz, with the opening bid starting at $4,500.

Additionally, Lifting Spirits will include an art installation in collaboration with Dirty Bandits outside The Public Theater, a partnership with @newyorknico to focus on iconic NYC establishments in need of support, and Hometown Hero with Priority Bicycles through which people will nominate their local heroes for a chance to win a custom bicycle.

The reinvented Hudson Whiskey is available now in the NY tri-state area before a national roll out in the coming months. Do The Rye Thing and Bright Lights, Big Bourbon retails for $24.99 (375ml) and $39.99 (750ml). Short Stack and Back Room Deal retails for $54.99 (750ml).

Glenfiddich returns with the third release of its Rare Collection: Glenfiddich 1975 Vintage Cask 4706 and Cask 5114. The collection, introduced in the 1990s, is a selection of a small number of unique casks reserved and hand selected by Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman.

Aged 44 years, these limited-edition whiskies laid down within a week of each other in 1975 in the Glenfiddich distillery warehouses. Cask 4706, aged in a European Oak Sherry Butt, and Cask 5114, matured in an unusually rare European Oak Hogshead, takes the original Glenfiddich distillery character to new heights with richer, darker and more complex notes.

“Selecting the casks to be a part of the exclusive Glenfiddich Rare Collection is a meticulous but extremely rewarding process,” says Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman. “They must reflect the timelessness of the Glenfiddich character, and the mastery of craftsmanship that has gone into creating the outstanding liquid within, resulting in a selection of whisky that is truly beyond compare.”

Both vintages were bottled at cask strength and are non-chill filtered. Each bottle is then individually numbered and presented in a handcrafted brown Italian leather box with a copper foiled leaflet containing detailed information about the bottling. With only 100 bottles available of each cask, these latest releases are meant to be savored and cherished until the very last drop, as once they’re gone, they can never be recreated.

Released individually as single casks, both Cask 4706 and Cask 5114 are exclusive to the United States with only 100 bottles of each available. Glenfiddich Rare Collection variants have a recommended retail price of $8,999.99 each.
