The Glendronach Distillery has released two new expressions, The Glendronach 30-Year-Old and The Glendronach 40-Year-Old, 2025 Edition.

For the “younger” expression, The Glendronach Distillery Master Blender Rachel Barrie married whiskies matured in Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso, and, for the first time, Amontillado sherry casks. “With the 30-Year-Old, we have composed a symphony from our most historic sherry cask styles,” said Barrie. “Three decades of maturation have resulted in a sublime and charming Single Malt, with generous layers of rich and complex character. It is the ultimate expression of our dedication to the art of sherry cask maturation.”

Presented in a case crafted from stained Walnut Curl Veneer, its surface is engraved with 30 facets to honor the three decades of maturation within.

The Glendronach 40-Year-Old, 2025 Edition is composed from a small number of hand-selected casks, which were married and refined over four decades in Spanish Oak Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.

“I am honored to share this exceptionally distinctive Single Malt,” said Barrie. “At forty years old, it represents four decades of sherry cask refinement, polished by time to become the ultimate expression of The Glendronach. It is a privilege to be the custodian of such remarkable casks.”

This 2025 Edition is housed in a presentation box crafted from dark stained rosewood, featuring brass handles and resting on a golden plinth.

1,300 bottles of The Glendronach 30-Year-Old were made available in the US for $1,300. 970 bottles of The Glendronach 40-Year-Old 2025 Edition were made available in the US for $6,700.

The GlenDronach Distillery has honored centuries of craft in its latest Single Malt release, The GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 12.

This twelfth batch of the expression highlights the depths of sherry cask maturation, carrying forth the legacy of distillery founder James Allardice since 1826, marrying Highland spirit to Spanish oak. The result is a richly sherried Highland Single Malt, matured slowly in fine Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía in Spain.

The GlenDronach Distillery Master Blender Rachel Barrie composes each batch for color, complexity and finish. “The GlenDronach Cask Strength offers connoisseurs a deep insight into the distillery’s signature character, by bottling at the whisky’s natural cask strength, as was the custom before the turn of the 20th Century,” said Barrie. “Add a drop or two of water to open up the liquid and reveal a cornucopia of flavors; from rich mocha to raisin-filled fruit-cake and indulgent crème brûlée. Such is the reward of our twelfth batch of The GlenDronach Cask Strength, a richly sherried Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in fine Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks.”

As with all expressions of The GlenDronach, all of the natural colors are drawn from slow maturation in Spanish oak casks.

The GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 12 is bottled at 116 proof and is available $104.99.

The GlenDronach recently announced the limited release of its first-ever 50-Year-Old Single Malt; the Highland distillery’s oldest and rarest single malt Scotch whisky to date. Distilled in 1971, this expression represents a milestone in the near two-hundred-year history of the distillery.

The GlenDronach Aged 50 Years has rested over five long decades in rare Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, from the Spanish bodegas of Jerez in Andalucía. Personally selected by Master Blender Rachel Barrie, these casks have been married for a final maturation in a single Pedro Ximénez cask. Only a small number of casks are chosen to reach such a celebrated age, and just 198 bottles will be available worldwide.

This rare liquid has survived floods and extreme Highland winters, as well as being haunted by the legend of a Spanish ghost. This expression tells a story of the rare dedication and mastery of those custodians who have devoted their lives, through highs and lows, to protecting and nurturing this exceptionally rare Single Malt.

“The GlenDronach Aged 50 Years is the most prestigious expression of what this timeless, richly-sherried Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky has to offer,” said The GlenDronach Master Blender Rachel Barrie. “At 50 Years Old, it is exceptionally rich and seductive, with mellow layers of alluring complexity. On the nose, ripe dark cherry and plum are the preludes to the harmony of rolling stone fruit, while the palate brings an exquisite overture of flavor with dense undertones of dark chocolate, tobacco, and cocoa.

“It has been a privilege to be the final custodian of our oldest expression to date, passed down through generations. The result is a hand-crafted Highland Single Malt that tells a story of rare dedication, of which The GlenDronach Aged 50 Years is the rarest of them all,” Barrie adds.

Each hand-numbered bottle of The GlenDronach Aged 50 Years is presented in a luxurious, genuine leather case accompanied by an embossed leather booklet detailing the distillery history, tasting notes, and unique craft. Bottle No. 1 of The GlenDronach Aged 50 Years was donated to the inaugural Distillers’ One of One Auction in December, raising $54,000 in support of disadvantaged young people in Scotland.

The GlenDronach Aged 50 Years is bottled at 87 proof and is available for $25,000.

The GlenDronach Distillery has announced the stateside arrival of four casks from the 18th batch of its acclaimed Cask Bottling collection.

Eighteen casks dating from 1990 to 2009 have been personally selected by Master Blender Rachel Barrie to celebrate and share some of the finest single malt scotch whiskies from the Highland distillery. This is the first time the US receives these Cask Bottling releases.

GlenDronach’s Cask Bottling Batch 18 as a whole globally features a variety of cask types and maturation periods. The US releases include cask bottlings from 1990, 1994, 2005 and 2008; bottled from Oloroso, Pedro Ximenez and Port Pipe casks.

The distillery’s newly enhanced tasting bar will be the only location in the world where all eighteen bottles will be available to try by the dram.

“The GlenDronach Cask Bottling Batch 18 is a celebration of the distillery’s time-honored mastery and a showcase of the finest of what this richly-sherried Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky has to offer,” said The GlenDronach Master Blender Rachel Barrie. “This release is a focal point to each year, demonstrating the exquisite character of our whiskies, through these exceptional casks which I have carefully hand-selected.”

“Each cask individually explores the sophistication, powerful intricacy and rich layers of Spanish sherry cask maturation found in every expression of The GlenDronach,” Barrie added. “From the rare vintage casks of 1990 with exquisite layers of dark chocolate and the elegant Victoria plum, date and bramble preserve notes in the 1992 Port Pipe, to the distinctive fruitcake and toasted raisin notes in the 2009 Pedro Ximénez Puncheon, each cask encapsulates The GlenDronach house style; robust, elegant and full-bodied. All eighteen casks are bottled without chill filtration for richness, at high strength and are naturally deep in colour.”

The GlenDronach Cask Bottling Batch 18’s four casks are now available for purchase nationwide. The GlenDronach Cask Bottling Batch 18’s 2008 CASK 3017 retails for $120, The GlenDronach Cask Bottling Batch 18’s 2005 CASK 1928 retails for $150, The GlenDronach Cask Bottling Batch 18’s 1994 CASK 5287 retails for $415, and The GlenDronach Cask Bottling Batch 18’s 1993 CASK 7102 retails for $600.

The GlenDronach Distillery has announced that The GlenDronach Port Wood, a single malt scotch whisky inspired by the history of importing casked port into Scotland during the 19th century.

The GlenDronach was established in 1826 by founder James Allardice, at a time when both sherry and port were very popular, with the finest port pipes traveling along Portugal’s Douro River destined for Scotland.

Made by our craftsmen using the same, time-honored methods, The GlenDronach’s spirit has been matured in the distillery’s signature Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, followed by a second maturation in port pipes from the Douro Valley. It is then selected and married by The GlenDronach Master Blender Rachel Barrie.

“The GlenDronach means ‘valley of the brambles’ in old Scots Gaelic. We are delighted to celebrate this heritage with a Portuguese twist on our revered Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry cask maturation, which uses the finest Spanish oak,” says The GlenDronach Master Blender Rachel Barrie. “This extra maturation in Port casks imparts a deep cherry wood color and enriches the layers of fruit in The GlenDronach, with delightful waves of Victoria plum, brambles and sandalwood on the nose. Layers upon layers of rich fruit flavor open up on the palate with notes of roasted apple crumble and gingerbread, developing into baked orange and black cherry back-notes.”

The GlenDronach Port Wood is available for purchase from select retailers across the US for $89.99.

The GlenDronach Distillery recently announced the release of The GlenDronach Kingsman Edition 1989 Vintage, the second expression created in collaboration with filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, to mark the upcoming release of “The King’s Man”.

The Kingsman Edition 1989 Vintage was crafted by Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie, in collaboration with Vaughn, the Kingsman film franchise director, from a selection of just six casks from this rare vintage year. Matured in Oloroso sherry casks with a final maturation in Pedro Ximénez casks, this twenty-nine-year-old single malt is inspired by the oldest bottle of whisky housed at The GlenDronach Distillery – a twenty-nine year-old whisky bottled in 1913 (just before the outbreak of the first World War). Three friends had each purchased a bottle before leaving for war, vowing to open them together on their return. Tragically, only one of them returned home. Having never opened his bottle, his family later gifted it to the distillery, where it remains unopened and displayed in remembrance of fallen friends.

Fittingly, “The King’s Man” is set during World War I and uncovers the origins of the Kingsman. As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Like the Kingsman creed, The GlenDronach’s values of dedication and integrity have remained constant, passed down through the generations; impossible perfection built on unshakeable tradition.

“There is an important line which says, “Reputation is what others think of you, character is what you are,: said Matthew Vaughn. “Strength of character and dedication to upholding the highest values perfectly encapsulates the true spirit of both the Kingsman agency and The GlenDronach Distillery. I hope Kingsman fans around the world will enjoy this Single Malt as much as I enjoyed partnering with Rachel Barrie and The GlenDronach to create it.”

“Working closely with Matthew, I have selected casks of the most exceptional character for this rare 1989 Vintage, with smoldering aromas of dark fruits and sherry-soaked walnuts, vintage leather and cedar wood,” adds Dr. Rachel Barrie. “On the palate, dense autumn fruits meld with date, fig and treacle, before rolling into black winter truffle and cocoa. In the exceptionally long finish, notes of blackberry, tobacco leaf and date oil linger to conclude the rich tasting experience.

All 3,052 bottles have been labeled, numbered and wax-sealed by hand, each adorned with the Kingsman insignia. The gift box also bears the signatures of both Dr. Barrie and Vaughn.

The GlenDronach Kingsman Edition 1989 Vintage is available now for $1,299.

The GlenDronach Revival 15 Year Old was named “Best In Show Whiskey” from 3,000 submissions from around the globe at at this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The 2018 release has been awarded the highest possible accolade of Double Gold at the competition.

One of Scotland’s oldest distilleries renowned for mastery of sherry cask maturation, announced the return of its 15 year old expression following a three-year wait. The expression exemplifies The GlenDronach’s rich depths of sherry wood maturation, continuing the legacy set out by distillery founder James Allardice in 1826, marrying Highland spirit to Spanish oak. Initially available exclusively at The GlenDronach Distillery, Revival arrived stateside late last year.

“Today marks the return of The GlenDronach 15 Year Old Revival, an iconic aged expression of critical acclaim, revered by connoisseurs around the globe,” says Rachel Barrie, Master Blender, BenRiach, The GlenDronach and Glenglassaugh. “After years of slumber, this relaunched expression embodies The GlenDronach signature style of Spanish oak maturation in fine Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía. Over 15 years in the darkness of our dunnage warehouses, the spirit has grown in stature, refinement and intensity.”

The original 15 year old sherry cask matured expression was introduced by The GlenDronach in the 1990s. It ceased to be bottled until 2009, when The GlenDronach Revival Aged 15 Years was released at 46% ABV. Having built up a strong reputation as one of the very finest sherry cask matured malts, it was discontinued in 2015 due to supply constraints.

The GlenDronach Revival 15 Year Old retails for $92.99.
