Bushmills Irish Whiskey brings its 26 Year Old Crystal Malt stateside, following a debut in the UK and EU last year.

Crafted from crystal malt, a barley is processed to crystallize sugars during kilning, this whiskey gains a depth of flavor before it ever touches oak. The result is a distillate with intense notes, carried through 26 years of maturation in first fill bourbon barrels from Kelvin Cooperage in Kentucky.

Casked on November 20, 1997 and triple distilled, this whiskey is bottled at 92 proof to preserve the flavor profile created. The use of bourbon barrels amplifies the creamy malt profile.

Bushmills 26 Year Old Crystal Malt is available for $1,000.

Bushmills Irish Whiskey just rolled out the second round of its Private Reserve Limited Release vintage single malt whiskey series.

The new expressions will consist of four vintage single malts whiskeys, each aged in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks before maturing in a unique third cask. This includes two 10 year olds (finished in Amarone Casks and Moscatel Casks, respectively) and two 12 year old single malts (finished in Bordeaux Casks and Tequila Casks, respectively).

These expressions, the work of Bushmills’ first female Master Blender, Alex Thomas, each boast a single vintage year in which it was distilled. Like all Bushmills’ single malts, they are made with 100% unpeated malted barley and the spring water from the river Bush, then triple-distilled in small batches in traditional copper pot stills for that signature smoothness.

The second set of Private Reserve Limited Releases includes Bushmills Private Reserve 10 Year Old: Amarone Casks, 2014 Vintage (94.6% proof), Bushmills Private Reserve 10 Year: Old Moscatel Casks, 2013 Vintage (97% proof), Bushmills Private Reserve 12 Year Old: Bordeaux Casks, 2012 Vintage (94 proof) and Bushmills Private Reserve 12 Year Old: Tequila Casks, 2012 Vintage (92.8% proof)

The second set of  Bushmills’ Private Reserve Limited Releases is available for a limited time only for purchase on Flaviar, Caskers, retail stores, bars and restaurants nationwide. Each of the 10 Year Old variants can be purchased at $59.99, with the 12 Year Olds available for $74.99.

Bushmills Irish Whiskey is hitting the links with Malbon Golf via a new clothing collection.

The new capsule features a custom leather flask (a first for Malbon), that has space to house both Bushmills and golf tees and easily snaps onto a golf bag to keep close, tee shirts and a crewneck sweatshirt that sport the signature Malbon x Bushmills crest logo, and two hats (a white bucket embroidered with the script logo and a black snapback with the iconic Buckets S. Thompson cartoon).

“Just as we at Malbon are always looking to push the envelope when it comes to golf apparel, Bushmills has also been doing their own thing in the whiskey space since 1608,” says Stephen Malbon, founder of Malbon Golf. “It’s with that spirit in mind that we created this collection for anyone who charts their own course, on or off the green.”

Available for a limited time, the Bushmills x Malbon drop can be purchased exclusively on MalbonGolf.com.

Bushmills closed out 2023 with the release of its “Private Reserve” series.

Launched on December 5th, the series featured hand-selected Irish Single Malts with rare cask finishes. The series debuted with an inaugural collection of four 10 & 12 year old whiskeys–three 10 year old single malts (Plum Cask, Bordeaux Cask, and Burgundy Cask) and a 12 year old (Tequila Cask).

These special expressions are part of one of the most rare collections on the market at the moment. The intricate process of hand-selecting each individual batch results in exceptional flavor profiles with a distinctive taste profile for each special expression.

Like all Bushmills whiskey, the Private Reserve collection is crafted by Master Blender Alex Thomas and made from 100% unpeated malted barley, fresh spring water from the river Bush and triple distilled in small batches in traditional copper pot stills.

This series marks the third innovative launch of 2023 following the annual release of Bushmills 25 & 30 YO expressions in April. With Rare Cask #4 hitting the shelves next year, Bushmills’ quality, aged stock and pace is unmatched by any other Irish whiskey brand.

Available for a limited time only, The Bushmills Private Reserve is available now. Each of the 10 Year Old variants can be purchased for $59.99, with the 12 Year Old available for $74.99.

Bushmills Irish Whiskey, the world’s oldest licensed distillery, celebrated 415 years of whiskey heritage with the opening of its new Causeway Distillery.

The opening is part of parent company Proximo’s £60 million investment in its Irish single malt distilling and ageing facility at Bushmills over the past five years. The 39,000 sq ft facility, valued at £37 million, is situated on Ireland’s north coast and blends tech with craft to double production at the Bushmills site.

With the brand experiencing increasing demand across the globe, the challenge in extending operations to the new distillery has been to maintain the brand’s essential taste and character. To achieve this, Bushmills has combined generations of knowledge and experience with the technical excellence of the new distillery and its processes. The new Causeway Distillery deploys the latest thermal technology, which reduces energy usage by 30%, and state-of-the-art distilling innovations that have boosted material consumption efficiency by up to 10%.

The distillery takes its name from the Giant’s Causeway, the legendary landmark, which has inspired Bushmills’ whiskey-makers for centuries. The designers have sought to pay homage to this natural wonder on the distillery’s doorstep with a visually arresting structure made of local basalt and limestone, incorporating interlocking and geometric features.

Colum Egan, the Master Distiller at Bushmills, said the expansion marked the “start of an exciting new chapter.”
“We are obsessed with exceptional whiskeys – the ingredients, the processes, the wood, the ageing,” said Egan. “Our second distillery represents a great step forward in ensuring generations to come will enjoy our renowned signature triple-distilled single malts alongside the innovations of the future.”

The investment in the Causeway Distillery marks Proximo’s unwavering commitment to accelerating the growth of the Bushmills portfolio, which saw depletions grow over 10% in 2022, passing one million case sales for the first time in its long legacy.

To celebrate the opening of the new distillery, Bushmills introduces two high-end additions to its range of products – a 25 Year Old and 30 Year Old Single Malt. With the 30 Year Old set to retail at a top price of $2,200 a bottle, the company describes the launch as a “bold entry into the ultra-prestige” market.

“Today, as we look to the future, it is fitting to release these two rare expressions,” said Alex Thomas, Bushmills Master Blender. “They are a testament to our passion for aged single malt. Maturing patiently and cared for by a generation of skilled craftspeople, these refined whiskeys have spent a lifetime in hand-selected oak casks and are now ready to take their place as true legends of Irish single malt.”

Bushmills’ owners Proximo are also set to capitalize on the area’s popularity as a tourist destination. Plans for a visitor experience at the new distillery signal an exciting boost for Irish whiskey tourism and the opportunity to engage new global whiskey lovers. Visitors can expect an immersive experience that includes Sharvagh House – linked to Hugh Anderson, one of Bushmills great whiskey pioneers – bridging the old and new worlds of whiskey-making in the region.

Irish Whiskeys are not typically known for age statement releases, but that may soon change. Bushmills Irish Whiskey mark their entry into the ultra-prestige single malt category with the introduction of two, ultra-rare, permanent additions to their core range of single malts – a Bushmills 25 Year Old and a Bushmills 30 Year Old.

Drawn from the greatest reserve of aged single malt Irish whiskey, Bushmills are the only producers in Ireland that have ample enough stock to release whiskey of such high age statements annually.

Bushmills 25 Year Old is a non chill-filtered Irish single malt matured in bourbon barrels and sherry butts for almost six years and finished first-fill ruby port pipe oak casks for an additional 21 years.

Bushmills 30 Year Old, distilled in 1992, this is the oldest expression the brand has released as part of its core range to date. The non chill-filtered liquid was matured in bourbon barrels and sherry butts for 14 years and finished in first-fill Pedro Ximénez casks for the remaining 16 years.

“When we started planning these two new whiskeys over 30 years ago, we travelled all over Europe to hand-select each cask,” said Colum Egan, Bushmills Master Distiller. “We collaborated with winemakers to specify the fortified wine recipe used to season them to create the flavors of our future Bushmills whiskey.”

“We’re proud of that mastery and expertise that ensures every cask is at its freshest and most flavorful to mature our Bushmills whiskey,” he adds. “It means our 25 Year Old bursts with intense hedgerow dark fruit and a luxurious honey sweetness and it ensures our 30 Year Old boasts an exquisite and enticing raisin, fig and praline richness. Even though it takes a lifetime of skill to make something great, it takes an obsession to make something legendary.”

Bushmills 25 and 30 Year Old single malt Irish whiskeys, which are both bottled at 92 proof, are currently available in limited quantities throughout the United States and will be available worldwide within the coming months. Bushmills 25 Year Old can be purchased for $900. Bushmills 30 Year Old retails for $2,200.

Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey is reintroducing its beloved Diamond Peak.

The original Diamond Peak was a limited-edition single malt batch that was double distilled in a hand-selected blend of four Rocky Mountain barleys then aged in virgin-charred American white-oak char #3 barrels. The reintroduced expresson will feature a different unique finish curated by Head Distiller Owen Martin each year. Each yearly batch will join the brand’s core expression lineup.

The 2022 batch combines flavors from around the globe. Like all Stranahan’s expressions, the whiskey begins with 100% malted barley. After being aged in American oak barrels for two to seven years, the liquid is transferred to Bushmills Irish single malt whiskey casks, where it ages for up to four additional years. Finally, the whiskey is cut to proof with Rocky Mountain water from Eldorado Springs and non-chill filtered.

“With Diamond Peak, Stranahan’s is pushing the boundaries of what can be expected from a refined American Whiskey,” said Owen Martin, Head Distiller at Stranahan’s. “We’re excited to create a new version of this expression each year with an extended finishing technique, and Bushmills was the perfect cask finish to complement our American Single Malt for our first edition. The character of both whiskeys results in a highly sophisticated expression, well-rounded with spices and sweetness.”

Stranahan’s Diamond Peak is bottled at 90 proof and is available for purchase for $79.99.

Bushmills Irish Whiskey recently announced its designation as the official whiskey of “Peaky Blinders.”

The Shelby Family and Bushmills share stories of passion in the face of adversity. The latter has never wavered from its commitment to crafting whiskey with a recipe passed down through generations of skilled whiskey-makers. Made on the wild edges of the north coast of Ireland, Bushmills has stood the test of time for over 400 years, having overcome conflict, fire and famine.

“The motivations of the Shelby’s are those of family, loyalty and perseverance, which are the same qualities that have put Bushmills at the forefront of whiskey making for hundreds of years,” said Lander Otegui, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Proximo Spirits. “Over the course of our partnership, we are excited to connect with a new, dynamic generation of whiskey drinkers through collaborative content and experiences that speak to the history and heart of our brand.”

The partnership launched time for St. Patrick’s Day with and will extend through 2022. To kick off the partnership, fans can order a Shelby Sour from their local bar, and Bushmills will cover the cost through today (March 17). The cocktail recipe, inspired by Tommy Shelby, features sweet and fruity flavors, balanced by the finish of Bushmills.

“What better way to welcome Bushmills as the Official Whiskey of the Peaky Blinders TV series than with a free whiskey cocktail for our loyal fans”, said Scott Shillet, Vice President of Licensing at Endemol Shine North America. “We’re excited to give our extended Shelby family a first taste of the partnership this St. Patrick’s Day as they eagerly await the sixth and final season of the hit show.”

Throughout the year, the brands will connect with consumers through co-branded content, an advertising campaign and live experiential moments.

Bushmills Irish Whiskey recently announces the permanent release of Bushmills 12 Year Old Single Malt Whiskey, an Irish malt that celebrates the marriage of two single malts matured for at least 11 years in hand-selected Oloroso sherry and bourbon barrels, then finished in Marsala wine casks.

Bushmills 12 Year Old comes to the US market under the care of its recently appointed Master Blender, Alex Thomas, and is the first expression to officially debut the brands’ new, elevated bottle and packaging for their award-winning single malts.

Having first joined the distillery in 2004, Thomas has spent over 17 years honing her craft before assuming the role of Master Blender. She will be responsible for nurturing the Bushmills Irish Whiskey portfolio of aged single malts, spearheading product development and working alongside longtime colleague Master Distiller, Colum Egan. Building on the legacy of generations of Bushmills’ whiskey makers to come before her, Thomas intends to make her own mark as Master Blender, while holding true to the distinct recipe and style that has been passed down for centuries.

“The Old Bushmills Distillery holds a very special place in the history of Irish single malt and the whiskey category as a whole, and it is a true privilege to be appointed as Master Blender,” says Bushmills Irish Whiskey Maser Blender Alex Thomas. “Bushmills 12 Year Old is an exceptional malt that speaks to our rich brand history and expertise, and I am thrilled that it will be released to the United States for the first time while under my care as Master Blender.”

Like all Bushmills whiskey, the 12 Year Old is made from 100% unpeated malted barley, spring water from the River Bush and is triple distilled in small batches in traditional copper pot stills. The distillate distinguishes itself after the marrying of two whiskeys that have aged minimally 11 years – one in Oloroso sherry butts and the other in bourbon barrels. To complete the process, fortified Marsala barriques from Sicily are used for 6-9 months as an intriguing finish to the whiskey.

In addition to being the newest permanent expression to join the Bushmills single malt portfolio, Bushmills 12 Year Old marks the debut of a decanter-style bottle and new packaging featuring more liquid details. The design will be implemented across the brand’s current malt portfolio of Bushmills 10, 12, 16 and 21 Year Old Single Malts and several upcoming releases.

Bushmills 12 Year Old is currently available for $59.99.
