Hardin’s Creek Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has just launched its Warehouse Series, which highlights how changes to an aging environment during maturation in the warehouse shapes the whiskey.

This limited-edition launch is a three-part collection consisting of Warehouse R (“Mushroom”), Warehouse W (“Beaver”) and Warehouse G (“Owl”).

Warehouse R “The Mushroom” was housed in a  rare single-story warehouse with no windows, cool and dark like the forest floor inhabiting mushrooms. Warehouse W “The Beaver” was in a five-story, nearly century-old rickhouse enveloped in the humidity of its damp, creekside location. Warehouse G “The Owl” | comes from a towering nine-story structure, one of the few of its kind still standing. Each expression is 110 proof.

“The Warehouse Series embodies the spirit of exploration that defines Hardin’s Creek – experimentation, discovery, and storytelling,” said Freddie Noe, Eighth Generation Master Distiller, James B. Beam Distilling Co. “By holding every variable constant except the warehouse itself, we’re able to demonstrate the unique impact maturation environments have on the spirit.”

To tell the story of the Warehouse Series, Hardin Creek partnered with surrealist artist Max Loeffler to create a new brand identity. Each bottle depicts a symbolic character tied to its warehouse environment. The designs help tell the story behind the whiskey with symbols illustrated throughout, offering hints of warehouse location, campus, proof and age statement.

Hardin’s Creek Warehouse Series is available now for $149.99 each.

Knob Creek marks a milestone via the release of its oldest expression to date, a 21 Year Old bourbon.

For more than two decades, these barrels rested patiently in James B. Beam Distilling Co.’s Kentucky rackhouses, weathering changing temperatures and seasons.  Each was then hand-selected by its master distillers for its balance and complexity and bottled at 100 proof.

“When we first laid this batch to rest, we weren’t chasing any specific age statement – we were focused on crafting a great bourbon, just like we always do,” said Freddie Noe, eighth generation Master Distiller at James B. Beam Distilling Co. “After I tasted the whiskey, I knew we had something special. After decades in the rackhouse, the liquid developed a richness and balance we knew Knob Creek fans and whiskey enthusiasts would want to try. That’s what makes this release special: it’s bold, full of character, and embodies what Knob Creek stands for.”

Knob Creek 21 Year Old is available nationwide for a limited time for $249.99.

The James B Beam Distilling Co has launched Booker’s The Reserves 2025.

The 2025 batch, the second installment, tells the story of barrels first used to age Booker’s 30th Anniversary release, then shipped to Jalisco where the Camarena family filled them with El Tesoro’s 85th Anniversary tequila. Finally, they were returned to Clermont, Kentucky, where Freddie Noe, Beam Family 8th Generation Master Distiller, finished a hand-selected batch of Booker’s inside them.

This is the very first time across the entire Beam portfolio that a product is finished in tequila barrels. At 123.3 proof the bourbon is aged exactly eight years, ten months and eleven days.

“Welcome to the second batch of The Reserves: a celebration of my Granddaddy Booker’s legacy. In many ways, it’s the same Booker’s you know and love. Always uncut and unfiltered,” said Freddie Noe, Beam Family 8th Generation Master Distiller. “But in other ways, The Reserves is something new, inspired by my granddaddy’s boundless curiosity and relentless pursuit of flavor.

“You see, he was never not exploring how to make even better bourbon,” Noe added. “He always had an experiment on the go. Either spending hours around the kitchen table pondering ‘what if we did X or Y….’ Or locking himself away at the distillery to chew on a question he needed to get to the bottom of. He’d come home eager to share the fruits of his tinkering with friends and family. Not just for us to enjoy, but to see if his experiments had paid off, or get inspiration for what he could try next time. Needless to say, we were all more than happy to be his guinea pigs. His creativity showed me how much more is possible with the whiskey we all know and love. I’m proud to carry his spirit forward and hope each release gives you a new appreciation for flavor, just as Booker intended.”

Booker’s The Reserves launched last year as the first innovation to come from Booker’s Bourbon since the 30th Anniversary launch. It is is an annual, limited-release series by Freddie, to commemorate his grandaddy, 6th Generation Master Distiller Booker Noe, and his contributions to the bourbon world.

Booker’s The Reserves 2025 is currently available for $129.99.

The Editorial team took a break for Dry January (well, damp) but we’re back and the same as ever. Since we missed January releases, will use this post as our way as covering as much of those releases as we missed. Please don’t hate us if we missed yours.

All Nations Kentucky Straight Bourbon – Premium spirits company Staghorn is relaunching the entire whiskey line up from its Garrard County Distilling Co. beginning with its new flagship whiskey. The 5- to 7-year-old blend from notable Kentucky distilling stalwarts showcases the skill of its panel of four award-winning whiskey experts behind the selection. All Nations engages a panel with decades of experience at such distillers as Jim Beam, Barton, MGP and Bluegrass to create its whiskey.  With Garrard County coming online last January, the whiskey was crafted with existing stocks from distilleries across the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The mash bills are: 75% corn, 12% rye, 13% malted barley; 70% corn, 21% rye, 9% malted barley; and 64% corn, 24% rye, 12% malted barley, respectively. The whiskey was aged in #4 alligator char barrels in Clermont, Danville, Owensboro, and Boston, KY before arriving for a final aging at Garrard County in Lancaster, KY. All Nations is blended onsite using water sourced from the limestone-rich Lancaster Public Spring aquifer, first tapped by settlers in 1776.

Barrell Foundation Double Barrel – – Barrell Craft Spirits launched this expression as a line extension of Barrell Foundation, the company’s first non-cask strength bourbon. The expression is a blend of Kentucky (8 year), Indiana (5, 6, and 9 year), Tennessee (8 year), and Maryland (5 and 6 year) bourbons. It features a derived mashbill of 73% corn, 23% rye, and 4% malted barley and is bottled at 100 proof.

Doc Holiday Bottled In BondWorld Whiskey Society announced the launch of its latest release, a blend of 7, 8, 10, 11 and 15 year-old expressions. Made at a single distillery during one distilling season, this bourbon is aged for no less than four years in a federally bonded warehouse.

Knob Creek x Eli Manning 2025 Bold Pick – Knob Creek teamed with the Super Bowl champion for this limited-edition single barrel bourbon. Hand-selected by Manning and Eighth Generation Master Distiller Freddie Noe, the expression is aged for a minimum of nine years in American white oak barrels and bottled at 120 proof.

Old Forester Whiskey Row 1910 – For The Love of Bourbon. Photographer – Leslie Grow. Prop Stylist – Amy Taylor. Drink Stylist – Laura Kinsey Dolph. Wardrobe Stylist – Amiee Byrne.

Old Forester 1924 – Returning to shelves for a second year, this 10-year-old 100-proof bourbon features a mash bill of 79% corn, 11% rye and 10% malted barley rather than the traditional Old Forester recipe. It is the newest addition to the brand’s Whiskey Row Series, a collection of Old Forester expressions that commemorate distinguishable moments from the brand’s 153-year history.

Old Forester The 117 Series – This limited-edition whisky derived from an extra-long double-barreling process and commemorates the October 22, 1910 distillery fire at 117 Main Street. A batch of mature whisky, ready to be bottled, was then re-barreled in new barrels so it could be removed due to the fire damage. What emerged from the re-barreling was Old Fine Whisky. For Extra Old, the brand left the 1910 whiskey aging in a secondary barrel.

WhistlePig Snout to Tail 10 Year Bourbon – After a decade of releasing ryes, WhistlePig is going “whole hog” with this 10 year old 88 proof bourbon finished in two toasted barrel heads – a Vermont oak medium toast (“the snout”) and a Vermont oak smoked maple wood toast (“the tail”). Its release celebrates with the upcoming opening of WhistlePig’s Louisville outpost,The WhistlePig PiggyBank, in summer 2025.

Freddie Beam and team recently released the first Little Book of 2024, Little Book Chapter 8, “Path Not Taken.”

Path Not Taken explores the future of American rye by blending a unique range of ryes together. This blend consists of seven liquids ranging from 4 years old to 18 years old (see below) that is 118 proof:

  • 18 years Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (High Rye)
  • 11 years Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey
  • 7 years Kentucky Straight Rye Malt Whiskey
  • 5 years Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (KY Family-Style, Char 4)
  • 5 years Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (PA Family-Style, Char 1)
  • 5 years Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (PA Family-Style, Char 4)
  • 4 years Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey

Beam looked across America’s oldest whiskey frontier from a new vantage point and created a complex, redefined, and differentiated profile by blending ryes of different age, char, and mashbill. This is his first concerted effort to blend an expression based on the influence and flavors of rye and the nuances of the rye grain primarily in the American Straight Rye styles selected, as well as its mashbill influence within high-rye bourbon.

Little Book Chapter 8, Path Not Taken is available now for $149.99.

Overholt announced its newest release, A Overholt shepherding the Beam’s newest take on Pennsylvania rye.

Overholt (aka Old Overholt) is reclaiming its stature as one of the most iconic rye whiskey brands A. Overholt uses the same mashbill Overholt founder, Abraham Overholt used in 1810–80% rye and 20% malted barley.

Since its inception, Overholt has forged forward through every era, including being one of the only spirits brands to survive prohibition. Today, Freddie Noe, 8th Generation Master Distiller of the Fred B. Noe Distillery at The James B. Beam Distilling Co. champions the legacy, propelling the brand forward through the rebirth of A. Overholt.

“With over 200 years of exceptional craftsmanship, Overholt is engrained in American history with its industrial roots and as a spirit that has set the industry standard since inception,” said Fred B. Noe Distillery Master Distiller Freddie Noe. “The newest launch of A. Overholt is the result of highly crafted whiskey, informed and inspired by generational expertise, and I’m honored to steward this brand forward while paying homage to its past and our shared commitment to American whiskey innovation.”

The Overholt brand is known as a keystone of American Rye Whiskey because of the shared qualities between Abe and The Keystone State itself: hard work, steely grit, big ideas, firm conviction, and its long-standing industrious spirit. Currently, it is produced in Clermont, Kentucky at the James B. Beam Distilling Co.

A. Overholt joins the ranks of this beloved, and trade favorite portfolio currently consisting of Old Overholt 4YO, Old Overholt 4YO Bottled in Bond, and Old Overholt Extra Aged Cask Strength.

Baker’s Bourbon recently unveiled “Made Different,” a collection of five new art pieces inspired by the brand and its namesake, Baker Beam.

The collection of hand-sculpted metal artwork was created by sculptor, Barbie The Welder, who found inspiration in the individualistic spirit that she shares with the former Beam family distiller and the single barrel bourbon named after him.

Like a single barrel bourbon, art thrives on individuality, is derived from experience, and no two pieces are the same. Crafted from repurposed metal, each piece in the “Made Different” collection brings to life the legacy and craftsmanship behind the Baker’s Bourbon.

The collection includes:

  • ‘Rebel With a Cause’ – Inspired by Beam’s life and one-of-a-kind, rebellious spirit, this sculpture replicates our namesake’s iconic leather jacket.
  • ‘Time’s Sweet Promise’ – Paying homage to the benefits of time in crafting bourbon, this piece celebrates the distinction between good and great as we wait patiently for the perfect moment to transition our bourbon from barrel to bottle.
  • ‘The Distinguished Single’ (seen above) – In both bourbon and art, creating a masterpiece is derived in the details. This unique hand-sculpted piece honors the nuances that make each barrel of Baker’s Single Barrel Bourbon unique and noteworthy.
  • ‘Kentucky Love’ – A love letter to the origin of Baker’s Bourbon, this piece honors Baker Beam’s home and the love that he and the entire Beam family of distillers have for Kentucky with a sculpture featuring the limestone water, Kentucky woods and, of course, a bourbon rackhouse.
  • ‘The Craftsman’s Legacy’ – A tribute to the craftsmanship of generations of Beam master distillers, this piece honors those who have contributed countless hours to perfecting their skills and share a profound passion for bourbon.

When creating the collection, Barbie The Welder explored another art form important to herself and the Baker’s: storytelling. To capture the story of Baker’s Bourbon, she connected with the Beam family’s seventh and eighth generation Master Distillers Fred and Freddie Noe, absorbing their stories about bourbon and Jim Beam’s motorcycle-riding, maverick grandnephew, Baker Beam. She was then able to bring both facets to life through her own vision, creating pieces of art made from repurposed metal that celebrate the originality of both bourbon and art.

“I’m incredibly honored to have had the opportunity to work with Baker’s Bourbon to create this unique art collection which resonated with me and inspired me personally,” said Barbie Parsons, professionally known as Barbie The Welder. “With this collection, I wanted to make sure that I demonstrated my commitment to creating high-quality, detailed pieces just like the craftsmen and craftswomen at the James B. Beam Distilling Co. do with Baker’s Bourbon. It’s truly amazing how both bourbon and art can bring people together.”

“We’re thrilled for the opportunity to breathe life into the narrative of Baker’s Bourbon and the remarkable journey of Baker Beam through art as exquisite and refined as our bourbon itself,” said Seventh Generation Master Distiller Fred Noe. “I could tell right away that Barbie was the perfect partner to bring this treasured brand to life. Her meticulously handcrafted sculptures stand as one-of-a-kind masterpieces and will offer a fresh perspective that truly celebrates the intricacies of our bourbon like never before.”

Available now, you can find more information and purchase each of Baker’s “Made Different” piece on Barbie The Welder’s website.

The James B. Beam Distilling Company and Freddie Noe, Eighth Generation Master Distiller of the Fred B. Noe Distillery, has announced the seventh installment in his annual blended whiskey release, Little Book Chapter 7: In Retrospect.

The 118 proof expression is a blend of seven cask strength American whiskies – one curated from each of the brand’s previous six chapters and a seventh new addition. The release is a reflection on Noe’s creations since the inception of his blended whiskey series and a nod towards what’s ahead as he continues to explore new horizons of American whiskey.

“Being named Master Distiller was a humbling moment for me, and it inspired me to reflect on the whiskey journey I’ve been on so far,” said Freddie Noe, Eighth Generation Master Distiller of the Fred B. Noe Distillery. “Little Book is a big part of that journey. Looking back on previous chapters’ liquid streams with fresh eyes to create something entirely new was an incredibly rewarding challenge – and a testament to the fact that there are so many possibilities yet to be uncovered in American Whiskey.”

Since its inception, Little Book Whiskey has sought to open whiskey fans’ eyes to the limitless taste profiles possible through blending aged whiskies. “This retrospective chapter was a great opportunity to involve my new team in the journey and spirit of Little Book,” said Noe. “Everyone brought their ideas to the table and thought about how we can create the highest potential from this unique catalog of whiskies we’ve utilized over the years. I’m really proud of the final outcome and excited to help expand folks’ whiskey journey with this release.”

The liquid streams used to create In Retrospect complement each other, resulting in an approachable liquid, even for those who have yet to try a cask strength whiskey. Little Book In Retrospect was developed by Noe by blending an 18-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, a 17-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, a 10-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey, a 9-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, a 5-Year-Old Straight Malt Whiskey finished in Applewood Smoked Barrels, a 4-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and 4-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey.
