The Glenlivet continues to break conventions with the introduction of The Glenlivet Twist & Mix Cocktails, a new line of ready-to-serve whisky-based cocktails.

The collection is debuting with the Old Fashioned and New Manhattan. Maintaining the flavor profiles of the beloved classics, the taste of the Old Fashioned is achieved with the tasting notes of orange, nutmeg and cinnamon, while the New Manhattan features notes of cherry and ginger. The popular cocktails are ready-to-serve with three simple steps: twist the cap, watch it mix, and pour over ice.

Hercules Mulligan has released its newest ready-to-drink release, Eyr & Rye, a limited-edition Irish-American Manhattan.

Similar to the Rum & Rye, the brand wanted to add an Irish twist to the classic Manhattan cocktail to honor the man the brand is named for. It is a blend of four spirits, including three American Rye whiskies and one Irish Whiskey, with a touch of cherry bitters and all-natural sweet and sour cherry juice.

“We had a few goals for our next RTD product, and one of those goals was to further explore classic whiskey cocktails,” said Hercules Mulligan Co-Founder Steve Luttmann. “The Ery & Rye is a bottled Manhattan, which we feel is a natural next step for the brand. We started with Rum & Rye, a bottled Old Fashioned, and the Manhattan is not only a classic cocktail, but a classic rye cocktail. We found that the combination of Rye Whiskey and Irish Whiskey works really well together.”

The marriage of music and booze is almost unmatched. To that end, Slow & Low recently announced their partnership with Country Rock music artist Nikki Lane for their Whiskey & Diamonds limited edition merchandise collection.

Created to celebrate Lane’s recent album, Denim & Diamonds, the collection consists of three products inspired by both the brand and the artist: Duelin’ Deck of Cards ($15), Diamond Whiskey Glass ($25), Set of 4 Vinyl Cocktail Coasters ($15). Fans can also buy the full bundle for $55.

This the season for holiday cocktails and one of Columbus’ craft distilling holiday events is back again this year. Watershed Distillery recently held its annual NocinoFest.

The maker of the award-winning Nocino also debuted a new, limited time offering this year at the event—Black Walnut Old Fashioned. Bottled and ready to drink, this holiday release is a marriage between Watershed’s bottled Old Fashioned and its Nocino. Watershed began making Nocino, a traditional Italian liqueur crafted from walnuts, in 2014 and remains one of the few producers of Nocino stateside.

“We put our two best holiday products in the same bottle for a one of a kind release,” said Greg Lehman, CEO of Watershed Distillery. “The holidays are one of our favorite times of the year here at Watershed and coming up with a special limited release to share with the community is always something that energizes our team.”

The Watershed Distillery’s Black Walnut Old Fashioned is a distillery-exclusive seasonal release and bottles are being sold on a first-come, first-served basis for $39.99.

Sunday’s Finest Cocktails is once again going for the gold (how could I not?) with the recent release of its ready-to-enjoy Old Fashioned, the Gold Fashioned 2022 Blend.

Last year, the inaugural blend was created with a focus on sourcing the best ingredients for each component of the quintessential cocktail: whiskey, bitters, and sugar. The new blend features a split-base blend of 3 whiskeys: a 15-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon, a 9-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon, and a 6-year-old Indiana Straight Rye.

Complementing the whiskeys are Sunday’s Finest housemade Saffron Bitters and naturally raw Fair-Trade Demerara from Malawi. The bitters blend is anchored by hand-harvested Afghan saffron, wild-harvested French gentian root, and Seville orange peel, which bring fl oral and bitter citrus top notes that are balanced by the warmth and spice of the single-estate Ecuadorian cacao and Grade A Tahitian vanilla.

The Gold Fashioned includes an atomizer zest made from a blend of Valencia, navel, and blood oranges that is misted over the poured cocktail, engaging all of the senses and adding olfactory intrigue with bright citrus aromatics.

Canned cocktails aren’t just for the summer. George Dickel and Social Hour are bringing the Harvest Whiskey Sour canned cocktail back for an autumnal return.

Harvest Whiskey Sour is made using 13-year-old George Dickel Tennessee Whisky (from distilling season Spring 2007) and makes it easy to enjoy a seasonal craft cocktail at home.

“Releasing the Whiskey Harvest Sour with Social Hour was our first venture in the canned cocktail space. We were thrilled with the initial reception and are excited for its return this fall,” said Nicole Austin, General Manager and Distiller at Cascade Hollow Distilling Co. “For the perfect whisky sour, you need a bold, complex whisky that’s able to stand out among the other flavors. The whisky we chose once again has been aged 13 years, bringing a level of maturity people typically don’t see in prepared cocktail offerings.”

“Fall-centric spins on the whiskey sour were always one of the most popular seasonal cocktails when I was bartending. The Harvest Whiskey Sour is designed to give a craft cocktail experience from the comfort of home,” added Tom Macy, Co-Founder and CEO at Social Hour Cocktails. “You can enjoy this by simply pouring over ice and adding a seasonal garnish like apple slices or cinnamon sticks.”

A good concierge can anticipate your every need. At Chicago’s The Gray Hotel they have taken that concept to a new level with their “Concierge Cocktails.”

The rotating handmade drink series is bottled in-house and was created by the Director of Concierge Services, Bobby Gonzalez. Available for both guests and visitors to purchase, this season’s series includes Cocktail number one, made with house-blended scotch, passion fruit and soda; and Cocktail number two, made with house-blended scotch, lemon and soda.

The beverages are available to purchase from The Gray’s Front Desk located on level two. The cost is $11 per bottle and $1 from every bottle is donated to rotating charities. The summer series’ chosen charity is Clean the World Foundation, a global health organization committed to improving the quality of life for vulnerable communities worldwide, most recently including those in need in Ukraine.

Hercules Mulligan Rum & Rye, the ready-to-drink craft cocktail, recently announced its launch in New York.
The cocktail, was inspired by the man himself ­– the tailor, Irish immigrant, spy, and unsung hero of the American Revolution, is a 50/50 blend of Caribbean aged rum and American rye whiskey inspired by the revolutionary era. Organic ginger root is macerated in the rum and rye blend, and a splash of bitters is added to create a ready-made Irish Old Fashioned.

Launched in 2019, Hercules Mulligan Co-Founder Steve Luttmann teamed up with Grisa Soba, Co-Founder of Flaviar, and Mario Mazza of NY-based Five & 20 Distilling, master distiller for Hercules Mulligan Company. The trio —affectionately referred to as “The Three Musketeers”— have led the company, which started with just 2,000 bottles at its launch.
