Sagamore Spirits Tries Bourbon

Sagamore Spirit is sweetening things up with the release of their first High Rye Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

As the newest expression in its Reserve Series, it marks the first time the Maryland-based distillery has crafted a bourbon. This high rye straight bourbon features a mash bill of 60% corn, 25% rye, and 15% malted rye, aged for 6 years in new charred American white oak barrels and bottled at 118 proof.

“This High Rye Straight Bourbon is something we’ve been eager to share — a whiskey crafted for those who enjoy both bourbon and rye flavors that makes for a memorable pour,” said Ryan Norwood, Master Distiller at Sagamore Spirit. “We’re thrilled to share this limited release with whiskey fans who appreciate something truly distinctive.”

The Sagamore Spirit Reserve Series celebrates the legacy of Maryland distilling. Within this series, some whiskies undergo barrel finishing, while others are distinguished by older age statements.

The limited Sagamore Spirit High Rye Straight Bourbon Whiskey is available in Maryland for $49 and can be purchased either at the Sagamore Spirit’s distillery in Baltimore or select premium retailers.
